“Bout damn time.” Caz says, pointing a spatula at us. I narrow my eyes at him, but he just laughs it off. “Join us! I’m cooking lunch.” He waves his arms in the air to demonstrate the mess he’s made.

I walk over to the stove and the smell up close makes my stomach roil. “More like burning it,” I say, scrunching my nose.

“Shit!” Caz turns off the stove and removes the pan of whatever it was. Placing his hands on his hips, he sighs. “So much for my dream of becoming Victoria’s Secret Angel’s personal chef.” I chuckle, and then lose it completely when Abby chucks an oven mitt at the back of his head.

With whatever Caz was cooking ruined, we decide on sandwiches, so Merrick and Caz start whipping them up and I make my way over to the seat in between Abby and Dex.
